Ruth T. McKinnon Ruth Taylor McKinnon, 89, of the Carnegie Community in Randolph County, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. Mrs. McKinnon was born in Early County Sept. 13, 1917, to the late Rawlings and Meda Olive Taylor. She attended Georgia Southwestern College and was a retired paraprofessional with the Randolph County School System, a retired beautician and was postmaster of the Carnegie Post Office for a number of years. She was a charter member and past president of the Azalea Garden Club of Cuthbert and was a life member of the Garden Club of Georgia. She was a member of Carnegie Baptist Church where she was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. McKinnon was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton McKinnon; a granddaughter, Beth Liggett; and son-in-law, Tom Liggett. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Liggett of Cuthbert and Linda Banks and husband Lewis of Dawson; four grandchildren, Tommy Liggett and wife Deborah of Keller, Texas, Jennifer Banks of Athens, Leah Brown and husband Ben of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kelly Banks of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Jay Liggett, Madison Liggett, Taylor Brown and Emerson Brown; two nephews and one niece. Funeral services were Friday, July 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Carnegie Baptist Church. Rev Dwayne Greene and Rev. Jackie Williams officiated. Interment followed in the Carnegie Cemetery.
