Former Bobcat wins gold

Three year boxing veteran Eldric Coleman competed in the Georgia Games July 15 and became the 2007 Georgia Games Gold Medalist. The 165 pound champion graduated from Early County High School in 2003.

"With consistent dedication, I plan on turning pro in about one year," said Coleman. Perhaps he can rival his role model.

Coleman's boxing idol is the former middleweight champion, Bernard Hopkins, who successfully defended his title over 20 times and is currently a light heavyweight world champion.

Coleman is the son of Patricia Ann Tolbert, Charles Tolbert Jr. and Edward Coleman. He has one brother, Charles Tolbert III. He currently lives and boxes with a team from Albany.
