Mite Boys take third place

Blakely-Early County Recreation Department sent three teams to all-star competition across the district this summer.

The 9-10 all-star baseball team played in Adel for the district tournament.

The Mite Boys won their first two games on Saturday. June 23 against Lakeland by a score of 6-0 and Colquitt-Miller County by a score of 9-0.

They traveled back to Adel to defeat Fitzgerald 3- 2 in the final inning Monday.

The team returned to suffer two losses on Tuesday.

The first was to the district winner Berrien "A" team by a score 0-12, and then to Irwin County 4-8.

The team finished 3-2 in all-star competition.
