Auditions set for Georgia Girls' Choir

Auditions for the Georgia Girls' Choir directed by Maridel Callan will be July 16, 17, and 18 from 9 a.m. 0 11 a.m. at the Collaborative building behind the sheriff's office in Colquitt. The choir will study etiquette, music theory, and vocal technique. Meetings will be Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm. beginning in August.

The concert repertory will include sacred, folk, art, classical, patriotic, broadway, and pop music. The group will sing a Christmas and Spring concert.

Girls who will be in the third or fifth grades who have a B average,an adeq voice, a neat appearance, good posture and good conduct are invited to audition. Those who audition may choose to sing "Silent Night" or "Happy Birthday to You."

Each girl auditioning should be accompanied by a parent or guardian or bring a note of permission. Girls from surrounding counties are encouraged and invited to participate.
