BOE names Joe Davis ECHS assistant principal

Joe Davis will be returning to Early County High School as an assistant principal for the upcoming school term. Davis was approved by the Early County School Board June 26 at a special meeting.

Other positions or transfers approved during that meeting include Paula Raley, transferring from ECES to ECMS; Billy Walworth, career tech director (part-time); Ginger Hunt, special education ECES replacing Paula Raley; Drew Willis, high school varsity assistant football coach/head junior varsity baseball coach; Bill Sharpton, assistant baseball coach and assistant middle school football coach; Donald Tribue, transferring to high school varsity assistant football; and Sondra Brewer, jv volleyball.

In other business, the board approved a proposal by Southern Management to provide custodial services for the school system and approved the alternative school handbook. The board will address the ECHS handbook at their next meeting.

The board also approved a revision to the system's out of county tuition policy that allows parents or guardians of non resident students who own property in Early County to submit a written request to the superintendent for a tuition adjustment based on the amount of Early County school taxes paid. Previously, the request was submitted to the school board.

The board also approved a resolution to validate the E-SPLOST election results which were 422 yes and 42 no.
