Emma Neal Hall
Teacher

Emma Neal Land Hall, 92, of Blakely died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Hall was born in Moultrie June 20, 1915, to the late Cornelius Porter Land and Ethel Mills Land. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Blakely and a retired teacher for the Early County School System. She taught the Mary Martha Sunday school class, was a member of the Early County Historical Society, D.A.R., Early County Literacy Task Force, Blakely Fine Arts, Court Square Arts Council, Retired Teacher's Association and the Wesleyan Circle. She also helped to establish the First Methodist clothing ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Hall; a sister, Lorena Walters; and a grandson, James Thomas Hall.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hall and wife Terri of Covington, La., and Tommy Hall and wife Jean of Blakely; four grandchildren, Molly Hall and John Hall of Covington, La., Jennifer Hall Smith and husband Mitchell of Plains and Leah Hall Synder and husband Stephen of Americus; and one greatgrandchild, Mary Thomas Smith of Plains.

Funeral services were Friday, June 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Blakely First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Turner and Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Interment followed at Blakely Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Spencer Mueller, John Hall, Mitchell Smith, Stephen Synder, Tom Cape, Monroe Ferguson, Sam Clinkscales and Verna Sammons.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the building fund of First United Methodist Church.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
