Perry Griffin
Operations Officer

Perry Griffin, 37, of Ashford died unexpectedly at his jobsite after an apparent attack upon his life early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2007.

Mr. Griffin was born in Blakely May 10, 1970, to Perry DeWayne Griffin Sr. and the late Linda Ruth Griffin. He was employed with Panhandle Converter and Scrap Company as its chief operations officer and enjoyed coaching t-ball and soccer with the Ashford Recreation Department.

Survivors, other than his father, include his wife, Ginger Chapman Griffin of Ashford; one son, Tripp Griffin; two daughters, Georgia Griffin and Lucy Griffin; his step-mother, Barbara Griffin; one brother, Chad McFay; and five sisters, Priscilla Baker, Voncile Garrett, Linda Sue Coleman, Michelle Griffin and Nichole McFay.

Funeral services were Friday, June 29, 2007, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ashford. Interment followed at Ashford City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bruce Pitcher, Fred Wyatt, Floyd Layou, DeWayne Johnson, Jeffrey Franklin and Buddy Entrican.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Donovan, Mark Winslett and Scottie Enfinger.

Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
