Sylvester Jackson Sylvester Jackson Sr., 81, of Blakely died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany. Mr. Jackson was born in Early County July 9, 1925, to the late Mamie Lee Walker and Willie Wakefield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie V. Blocker. Survivors include two daughters, Katie Jordan and husband Willie and Jennifer Jackson, all of Albany; two sons, Sylvester Jackson Jr. of Albany and Tony Ward and wife Tenequa of Arlington; one nephew, Henry Hayes and wife Jeanette of Arlington one sister, Lillie Holden of Tallahassee; two children raised as his own, a granddaughter, Carrol A. Coleman and husband Reginald, of LaGrange and one nephew, Henry Hayes and wife Jeanette of Arlington; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Methodist Church in Arlington with Rev. Melvin Blocker officiating. Interment followed at Damascus Cemetery.
Murray and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
