Matthew Cannon Student Matthew Alan Cannon, 24, of Jakin died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Mr. Cannon was born in Houston County, Ala., March 25, 1983. He graduated from Early County High School in 2001 and was a student and engaged in farming with his father. He was a member of Jakin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mattie Gentry, and paternal grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Cannon. Survivors include his parents, Carey and Terrie Cannon, of Jakin; his fiancee, Jamie Swanner, of Jakin; maternal grandfather, A.J. Gentry of Blakely; paternal grandparents, Bill and Joyce Hughes of Hartford, Ala.; one aunt, Jackie Brown and husband John of Blakey; one uncle, Carroll Cannon and wife Patsie of Ty Ty; and several cousins. Graveside services were Friday, June 22, 2007, at 5 p.m. at Jakin City Cemetery with Rev. Tim Bell officiating.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
