Cannon succumbs to injuries Matthew Cannon of Jakin lost the battle for his life in a Dothan hospital Thursday night following a June 15 fourwheeler accident. Cannon, 24, suffered severe head injuries when he was thrown from the four-wheeler he was riding on Spooner Quarter Road near Jakin. Cannon's fiance, Jamie Swanner, was following at a distance. When she reached the scene of the accident the four-wheeler was upright with the engine running. Cannon was found in the southbound lane of the road. The couple had announced their wedding plans in the Early County News in April. They had planned to wed Aug. 4. Matthew was a 2001 graduate of Early County High School and was pursuing an accounting degree at Bainbridge College. He was employed at Triple C Farms in Jakin.
A large crowd attended graveside services Friday afternoon at the Jakin cemetery.
