Griffin murdered in Dothan
A former Blakely man, 37-year-old Perry Griffin of Ashford, Ala., was found lying beside his vehicle in front of Panhandle Converter and Scrap Co. on Beverlye Rd. in Dothan.
When police arrived at the scene they discovered Griffin had died of an apparent gunshot wound. The weapon believed to be used in the shooting was found in a nearby ditch. Police, who were called to the scene at 6 a.m. CDT believe Griffin may have stumbled onto a burglary in process or was the victim of a robbery. His truck was still running with the lights on when they arrived at the scene. He was discovered by a co-worker.
