Preston, Ash vows exchanged
The wedding took place Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Newville Baptist Church in Newville, Ala. Rev. Kenneth Preston, uncle of the bride, joined the bride and groom in holy matrimony. Attendants in the wedding were Ashley Preston, sister of the bride, maid of honor; Charles Gordon Ash III, father of the groom, best man; and Madie Preston, niece of the bride, flower girl. Ushers were Cody Cannon Ash, brother of the groom and Matthew Preskitt, nephew of the bride. Janet Blair played music and Roberta Childs directed the wedding. A reception was hosted by Doug and Sheila Preston in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edith Mills Blalock and the late Leonard Blalock of Abbeville, the late Rex and Marjorie Chancey Preston of Echo, and the stepgranddaughter of the late Cecil and Jeanette Cullifer McClendon of Newville.
The groom is the grandson of Dorothy Cannon Willis and the late Marvin Harold Willis of Blakely, and Mary Elizabeth Johnston Ash and the late Charles Gordon Ash Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.
