Authorities arrest Blakely man

Authorities have arrested a Blakely man in connection with a break-in and assault at a Cedar Hill Homes apartment.
A victim called authorities at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday morning reporting that an assailant had broken into her residence, threatened her with a knife and sexually assaulted her.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of John Wesley Powell Jr., 29, of 425 Hogan Ave., Blakely. Powell has been charged with burglary, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and rape.
He is currently being held without bail in the Early County jail.
