Athletic club supports SPLOST
Dear editor,

The ECHS Athletic Booster Club would like to encourage citizens to support and vote "YES" to the upcoming 1 percent Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (ESPLOST). The continuation of the 1 percent sales tax will provide Early County students a new high school gymnasium and purchase athletic equipment needed by our sports teams. Improvements to Standifer Field and stadium and the present gymnasium will also be included in the projects funded by this tax.

Athletes from the Early County School System continue to bring many honors to our county as well as first class sports entertainment for our citizens. Our athletes have the talent to compete with other schools in our region and throughout the state. Passing the E-SPLOST will ensure that they have the facilities, equipment and educational opportunities needed to compete statewide.

The ECHS Athletic Booster Club helps to fund expenses for all ECHS sports and works to see that each Bobcat athlete has what they need to be successful. Not only do we support our Bobcats financially, but we support them with encouragement and Bobcat spirit! We feel that passing the SPLOST will be a continuation of the goals that we work hard to achieve. With these goals in mind, we ask that you consider voting YES to the ESPLOST on June 19 so that all Early County citizens and visitors to our community have the opportunity to support the Bobcats.

Sincerely, Julie E. Jarrett, president
