Commissioners discuss Hwy. 27 meeting The Early County Commissioners met Monday night and attended to a short agenda. Commissioners Hank Jester and Butch Wiggins were absent. The commissioners reappointed Minnie Love to the Early County Department of Family and Children's Services board and discussed the upcoming Highway 27 meeting in Columbus. The commissioners also discussed the consolidation of the county's green cans which is continuing. A budget hearing to accept public comments on the county's 2007-08 budget has been scheduled for June 21 at 6 p.m. The Early County Code Enforcement reports the following permits issued in May. Two permits for houses were issued and three permits for additions. Four mobile home permits were issued and four electrical hook-ups were permitted.
Citations were issued for littering at the intersection of Frith and Whitaker roads and Three Notch Road. Two warnings were issued. Two junk vehicles were removed from Three Notch Road.
