Georgia Askew Artist Georgia Aurelia Askew, 87, of Arlington died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Americus. Ms. Askew was born in Calhoun County Feb. 22, 1920, to the late David Harum Askew Sr. and Georgia Fort Askew. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Ms. Askew graduated from Arlington High School, attended Florida State University and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. She was preceded in death by one brother, David H. Askew Jr. Survivors include four nephews, David H. Askew III and wife Cile of Colquitt, Oree C. Askew and wife Dawn of Dallas, Ga., Allen F. Askew of Panama City Beach and Hollis H. Askew and wife Susan of Arlington; and two nieces, Susan New and husband Brant of Dublin and Rachel Bell and husband Claude of Blakely. Ms. Askew is also survived by close friends including Dr. Jay Dallas and family and Deitre. Memorial services were Saturday June 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating.
Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
