40 arrested in undercover operation
A month-long undercover operation by the Early County Drug Unit had local authorities busy Monday and Tuesday rounding up nearly 40 people with pending drug and alcohol charges.
Between May 1 and May 23 undercover operatives made 59 drug buys and 10 alcohol buys from at least 38 people which led to the charges. All of the transactions were recorded on video camera.
By Tuesday morning approximately 32 of the suspects had been arrested and charged, and at least six more with drug charges pending are expected to be arrested this week.
The names and charges released by authorities so far include: Calvin Beacham, 1120 South Main St., two counts of sale of cocaine; Arthur B. Brown, 11182 Hwy 27, one count sale of cocaine; Tracy Lee, 409 South Bay St., three counts sale of cocaine; Antonio Ransom, 300 Liberty St., three counts sale of cocaine; Eugene Johnson, 210 Azalea St., Arlington, two counts sale of cocaine; Eric White, 433 Ft Gaines St., three counts sale of cocaine; Travis Ofton, 331 Chattahoochee St. four counts sale of cocaine; Queen Thornton, 129A Liberty St., one count sale of cocaine; Terrance Felder, 2739 Five Bridges Road, four counts sale of cocaine; Michael Reed, 309 Johnson St., four counts sale of cocaine; Jerinaine Mells, 806 Howell St., three counts sale of cocaine; Quinton Wiggins, 106 Dean Ave., three counts sale of cocaine; Nathaniel Moore, 65 Westwood Ave., one count sale of cocaine; Mario Thomas, 468 Liberty St., one count sale of cocaine; Dantrel Bradley, County Lane Homes, three counts sale of marijuana; Michael Williams, 1448 North Church St., one count sale of cocaine; Mattie Lou Sol, Cedar Hill Apt. 49, two counts sale of prescription pills, one count of sale of cocaine; Jands Johnson, 18420 E.
