Drought conditions
Ty Godfrey

The extended period of drought conditions has prohibited numerous producers from planting their intended crops.

To file a prevented planting application, the producer must file an application within 15 days of the FCIC final planting date for the crop.

Final planting dates are: May 31 - cotton and peanuts; June 10 - sorghum; June 15 - soybeans.

Acreage covered by FCIC must be reported to your agent in addition to filing an application with FSA.

Cattle producers can file a failed acreage report for pasture and hay acreage within 15 days after the occurrence of the disaster conditions.

We expect a large volume of applications as well as acreage reports and enrollment in the Direct and Counter Cyclical program.

Please call ahead of your visit and make an appointment.
