155 receive ECHS diplomas
Salutatorian Malanie Love challenged classmates to re-evaluate the meaning of success, asking "By what standard do we measure success and who set those standards to begin with?" She encouraged fellow classmates to "Do what you love and give it everything you have. All you have is all you can give and that is always enough." Quoting Einstein, she recalled "to become men and women of value, that is to be successful." Valedictorian Grant Bruner congratulated his senior class for making it to the graduation milestone. Quoting Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous..." Bruner challenged each person to be strong and courageous in each aspect of their lives as they continue past high school and on to greater things. Motivating his classmates to consider not only their intelligence, but also their character, he recalled the words of Martin Luther King Jr., "Intelligence is not enough, intelligence plus character, that is the true goal of education."
Following the recessional, the graduates celebrated with congratulatory hugs and by flooding the sky over Standifer Field with their graduation caps.
