Students recognized during Honors Day
History teacher Henrinel Middleton, who serves as master of ceremonies, said that more scholarships were awarded this year than ever before. Allison Hutchins was awarded a scholarship from the Georgia Society of CPAs, while Lanie DeLoach was presented the Archbold Hospital Scholarship. Caitlin Cooper and Russ Williams received the Army Reserve/ Athlete Scholar Award. Jason Dean was honored with the Presbyterian Award. The Peter Early Chapter of the DAR awarded Jignesh Patel with the Good Citizen Award, Jay Smith received the DAR Good Citizenship Award and Brooke Ricketson was presented the History Award for having the highest average in American history.
The Dan and Bill Foster Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Jana Sizemore, while Ben Bridges was presented with the Buck Spooner Memorial Scholarship. Russ Williams received the Pilot Club Scholarship and the Jerry Widener Memorial Award. Thomas Corrigan and Caitlin Cooper received the Bank of Early/First State Bank Athlete-Scholar Scholarships. Woodmen of The World Scholarships were presented to Teal Massey, Marlena Collins and Clay Hudson. Jason Dean and Kayla Craft were awarded the Georgia Certificate of Merit. Middleton presented SGA Scholarships. The W.T. Henry Scholarship was presented to Blake Shepard, while Maggie Bridges received the Martha Jean Jordan Scholarship.
Yearbook Editor Awards were presented to Lorie Holman, Katie Gray, Brooke Ricketson and Jay Smith. Departmental awards were given for grades six through 12.
