Louise M. Gay Bookkeeper Louise McDowell Gay, 82, of Dunedin, Fla., died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Westchester Gardens Nursing Home in Clearwater, Fla. Mrs. Gay was born in Early County March 20, 1925, to the late Edwin C. McDowell and Nancy Wiley McDowell. She was a member of White Pond Freewill Baptist Church and a retired bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gay, and four brothers, Willett McDowell, Lemuel "Buddy" McDowell, Ewell McDowell and Lester McDowell. Survivors include one son, W. Keith Gay and wife Cynthia of Dunedin, Fla.; one brother, Donnell McDowell and wife Ann of Damascus; two sisters-inlaw, Pearl McDowell of Damascus and Mary McDowell of Newton, Ala.; and two grandchildren. Graveside services were Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Cemetery in Damascus with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
