Harris - Williams

Charlie Harris of Newton and Diane Harris of Damascus are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karen, to Brian D. Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian K. Williams of Killeen, Texas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Patrick Fuller Jr. of Miami and Louise Allen of St. Petersburg, and Harrison Hawkins Jr. and the late Willie Mae Hawkins of Newton.

Miss Harris is a 2000 graduate of Early County High School and a 2005 graduate of Savannah State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in biology. She also completed a post-baccalaureate program at Vanderbilt University in Nashville where she conducted research in the department of molecular physiology and biophysics. She currently works with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as a crime lab scientist and forensic biologist.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Sherman Williams Sr. and Shirley Mae Williams, and the late Oscar Jackson and Johnnie Mae Kyles, all of Alexandria, La.

Mr. Williams is a 2000 graduate of Liberty County High School in Hinesville, Ga., and a 2005 graduate of Savannah State University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in business administration. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in exercise science at the University of Georgia.

The wedding is planned for the summer of 2008.
