Hazel K. Ford Educator Hazel Blanche Killian Ford, 97, of Atlanta, died Monday, April 2, 2007. Mrs. Ford was born in Athens November 10, 1909, to the late William and Mattie Killian. She taught in the Early County School System for a number of years before moving to Atlanta. She served as church secretary for Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church for 25 years, served as Sunday school teacher and was a member of Southwest Georgia Women's Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Lee Ford, and two children, Mattie Ford Everett and Lawrence Ford. Survivors include eight children, Hazel F. Wimbs of New York, Jean F. Austin and husband Horace of Atlanta, Ruth F. Ash of Jonesboro, William Ford and wife Virginia of San Antonio, Texas, Arthur Ford and wife Nell of Jackson, Ga., Sarah Odessa Ford of Cleveland, Ohio, James Ford and wife Veverlyn of Stone Mountain and Sharon F. Turner and husband Roman of Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Allen Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. E.L. Adams officiating. Interment followed in Green Cemetery.
