Commodities to be distributed in Calhoun County

USDA government surplus commodity distribution will be in Calhoun County at the old Senior Citizen Center March 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. if supplies last.

All recipients must certify their eligibility. Those who wish to qualify need to bring some form of identification and know their total household income.

If you send someone to pick up the commodities for you, they must have a written note signed by you listing your social security number, address and total household income.

Please bring bags and/or boxes to place items in. Each issue will weigh about 22 pounds.

Items scheduled for distribution include green beans, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, mixed fruit, pineapple, beef stew, tuna, instant milk, 2 percent milk, peanut butter and roasted peanuts.
