Let the Bible Speak Acts 8:26-39. The Bible tells us of a eunuch from Ethiopia on his way back from Jerusalem. He was reading a scroll of Isaiah when the spirit of the Lord told Philip to go near and join onto the eunuch's chariot. Philip and the Ethiopian began a wonderful conversation. The result of their conversation was that the eunuch learned what he needed to do to be saved, obeying the truth he had learned. Acts 8:35-39. The Bible also tells us of a Philippian jailer that became a Christian. Acts 16:25-34. The midnight hour arrived, Paul and Silas were praying and singing unto God as they were in prison for the preaching of the gospel. The foundations of the prison were shaken by a great earthquake causing all the doors to be opened and everyone's bands were loose. The jailer awakened to find the prison doors were opened, thinking all the prisoners had fled. He drew out his sword and was told by Paul not to do himself any harm. Paul then told the jailer what to do to be saved. The jailer obeyed the truth that he learned. Acts 16: 31-33. The Bible records many other New Testament conversions to Christ in the book of Acts. The things they learned in order to be saved we must also learn today. The obedience to the Lord's commandments that they rendered in order to be saved still apply to us today.
Friends and neighbors, will you learn the plan of salvation and obey it just as the jailer and the eunuch did?
