Queens involved in 'Boxes for Baker'

Local queens collected donations and supplies to send to Baker County to help with tornado relief in that area.
The Early County Forestry Queens had mixed emotions after the storm and tornadoes March 1. They felt very fortunate that Early County had been spared by the storm but at the same time their hearts broke for the people of Baker County.

They were so overwhelmed by the destruction that they saw on the news; they felt like there had to be some way they could help. Saturday, March 3, they started a fundraiser called, "Boxes for Baker County." They took up donations and supplies in front of Harvey's from noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and continued to take donations until Thursday, March 8.

The queens raised over $2,000 in donations. They delivered the supplies to Baker County on Friday, March 9.

The 2007 Foresty Queens are Miss, Brittney Wilkerson; Junior Miss, Beth Burkett; Teen Miss, Dani Taylor; Little Miss, Taylor Engram; Tiny Miss, Emmie Fenn; Teeny Miss, Jaden Hodges; and Miss Hospitality, MaKayla Mock. Forestry director is Wyndy Enfinger and co-director is Charlotte Kennedy.
