"Thanks for the memories"

The Early County Historical Society has a new project on the burner. Long known for its excellent publishing projects which focus on local history, the society is now branching out into the collection of oral history.

"We are interested in collecting stories and recording the traditions of families in Early County," said Charles Garrett, society president.

The group hopes to gather these memories through interviews and by just listening as memories, stories and traditions are shared. The sessions will be recorded and transcribed for future generations.

To schedule an appointment to share memories with a society member, or to find out more about the project, please call Charles or Regina Garrett at 768- 2230 or Dianne Harris at 723-8373.
