Want WiFi?

A study is underway to determine the feasibility of providing wireless broadband access to the underserved rural population in a five-county area. The five counties participating in the study include Early, Calhoun, Miller, Baker and Mitchell.

Interested citizens are being encouraged to add their name to a list of potential subscribers within the five-county area. Everyone interested is asked to send their name and address to Broadband Project, Early Co. Commissioners, P.O. Box 693, Blakely, GA 39823. The information does not represent a commitment to subscribe to any service. It is simply an effort to document for OneGeorgia the level of interest in wireless broadband service in the five-county area.

Readers may clip and mail the form on page 3, or send a postcard with the information.

Information can also be provided via email at earlycc@alltel.net.

Please get your name

in by April 1.

The study is being funded by an $88,600 OneGeorgia BRIDGE Grant and each county has contributed a matching $5,000.

The study is Phase I of a two-part grant application to provide wireless broadband internet service throughout the rural areas of the five counties.
