Celebrate cancer 'survivorship'
To all cancer survivors,

Preparations are underway for the Early County Relay for Life Unit, of the American Cancer Society annual walk. This will be 13 years we have been a part of "a community that takes up the fight" against cancer.

In honor of your battle against cancer, we extend a special invitation to you, our survivors. Please plan to join us in a celebration of cancer suvivorship by walking the first lap of the Relay for Life. This will be held on the grounds of our beautiful and historic courthouse square.

Please plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to register, pick up your free survivor tee-shirt and to be the "special part" of the opening ceremonies. Following the lap, there will be a reception in your honor. To pre-register, call Eunice Waller at 723-4038 or 308- 2220.

All activities will begin at 7 p.m. on the south side of the courthouse. Chairs will be provided for suvivors. We ask that anyone attending this community event to please bring a lawn chair so that you can enjoy guest speakers, entertainment, team activity and witness the lighting of family candles - the luminary service in honor and in memory of those we love and cherish.

As cancer survivors, we need you to be present. You are the "spark" that begins the relay lap, the "spark" that may find the answer, the "spark" that is light to the progress that has been made and, as always, you are the "spark of hope" we all need to continue the fight against cancer.

See you March 30.

Sincerely, Eunice Waller, chairman
