Literary team earns honors

Members of the Southwest Georgia Academy Literary team earned second place honors at region and advanced to place in state competition.
Southwest Georgia Academy's Literary Team recently placed in both region and state competitions.

The team tied for second place overall in GISA 3-AA region competition March 7 in Thomasville.

Thomas Corrigan placed first in argumentative essay and second in extemporaneous speaking.

The girls' trio, consisting of Kimber Henley, Camille Whittaker and Maggie Bridges, also placed second.

The boys' quartet, including Beau Clenney, Blake Shepard, Brent Enfinger and Ben Burkett, won second place as well.

Will Murdock and Michaelyn Newberry both won second place titles for their dramatic and humorous oral interpretations.

Clay Hudson received fourth place in personal essay.

In state competition, the quartet and Will Murdock placed second. The trio, Michaelyn Newberry and Thomas Corrigan (argumentative essay) placed fourth.
