DOT sponsors photo contest The Georgia Department of Transportation is looking for the best pictures that showcase the beauty of our state. Once the photos are selected they are published in the state highway and transportation map. The contest is open to all Georgia residents and will run from March 1, through April 13. Following are some of the requirements for submission: + Photos should be taken at a minimum resolution of 1000x1000 pixels. + Image of a transportation related area or tourism attraction in Georgia + Image must be saved in JPEG or TIFF format + Name image file: "FirstnameLastnamePhot oNameCountyName.jpg" Example: RobertSmith _GaAquarium_WhaleShark _Fulton.jpg (Please note: the county should reflect the county location of the area or attraction in the photo, not the residence of the photographer.) + All photos should be submitted to the Georgia DOT website www.dot.state.ga.us. + Photos MUST be submitted online by April 13 + Only one (1) photo per entrant + Georgia DOT will not pay for the rights to use the photo; however, the map will list the names of winning photographers. In July the state transportation board will select the 13 photos to be included in the 2008 state transportation map.Winners will be notified in writing by Aug. 30. In cooperation with state and local leaders, the Georgia DOT is committed to building and maintaining top-quality roads that meet mobility needs with environmental sensitivity.
