BOE discusses SPLOST renewal projects

System level personnel and school administrators were approved for the 2007- 08 school year at the Early County Board of Education's Feb. 27 meeting. The BOE also discussed SPLOST renewal projects.

System level personnel approved included Deb Collier, assistant superintendent for student services; Stella Smith, assistant superintendent for finance; Bronwyn Ragan-Martin, curriculum specialist; Joy White, special education director; Stephanie Whitehead, technology director; Cynthia Wright, gifted education coordinator; Tammy Storey, Title I parent involvement coordinator; Danielle Miller, SST/intervenetion coordinator; and Jeff Daniel, transportation director.

School level administrators approved included David Ferry, principal ECES; Anthony Yarbrough, principal ECMS; Jim Morrell, principal ECHS; and James McCoy, principal ECAS.

The BOE also approved resignations from Mary Jane Warrick, Kim Crowdis, Alma Hollinger and Cindy Lightsey, all effective at the end of the school year; Sonny Megahee, effective July 30; and approved Shirley Robinson's change from full time to 49 percent, effective March 1.

Business associated with the SPLOST renewal included a motion to approve the sale of bonds totaling $6.5 million for construction of ECHS gym and replacing ECHS roof with a five year payback on the bonds. The SPLOST revenue resolution will show a cap of $13 million during the five year period. Other items identified for proposed SPLOST projects will be prioritized as funds are available.
