Virgie Jenkins

Virgie Johnson Jenkins, 70, of Shellman died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Early County March 18, 1927, to the late James Alf Johnson and Mamie Lee Williams Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lougene Jenkins.

Survivors include one son, Melvin Wyatt Jenkins of Shellman; one brother, Wiley Johnson of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Mamie "Dale" White Coley of Shellman and Juanita Davis of Polk City, Fla.; one granddaughter, Vivian Iddings of Blakely; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 2 p.m. from Lunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Cuthbert with Johnny Ray White offciating. Interment followed at Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery in Early County.

Lunsford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
