Thank your legislators
To the residents of Southwest Georgia:

If you or a family member recently learned about screening tests to find cancer, you may want to thank your local legislator.

If you understand more about clinical trials, you may want to thank your local legislator. If you've had a screening test for breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer or cervical cancer, you may want to thank your local legislator. If you or a loved one has been able to participate in local research to prevent or treat cancer, you may want to thank your local legislator.

The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition covers 33 counties in our area. Legislators across the region have shown dedication to our mission to fight cancer and have supported our efforts at the state level. Because of their work, we have received state funds to educate residents about cancer screening and research and to improve access to screening and to clinical trials. This funding is vital to support our goals to better prevent, find and treat cancer in Southwest Georgia.

We greatly appreciate the strong efforts of following representatives and senators in our region: Rep. Ellis Black, Sen. John Bulloch, Sen. Joseph Carter, Rep. Mike Cheokas, Rep. Terry Coleman, Rep. Winif-red Dukes, Rep. Johnny Floyd, Sen. Greg Goggans, Sen. Tim Golden, Rep. Gerald Greene, Rep. Bob Hanner, Sen. George Hooks, Rep. Penny Houston, Rep. Mike Keown, Rep. Gene Maddox, Sen. Michael Meyer von Bremen, Rep. Freddie Powell Sims, Rep. Jay Roberts, Rep. Richard Royal, Rep. Ed Rynders, Rep. Jay Shaw, Sen. Ross Tolleson, and Sen. Tommie Williams

Sincerely, Diane Fletcher

CEO
