Bike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude
A bike-a-thon event benefiting the St. Jude's Research Hospital will take place in Blakely April 27, with a rain date of May 5. The volunteer coordinator for this event is Carol Ansari, who encourages everyone to participate.
By participating in or attending this event, citizens will help St. Jude's in its ongoing fight against childhood catastrophic diseases. All funds raised through this event will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
St. Jude's is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures for cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude's freely shares its discoveries with medical and scientific communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude's is financially supported by ALSAC through events such as a bike-a-thon.
