ABAC plans Homecoming

With only one year to go before Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College turns 100 years old, the theme for Homecoming 2007 is "Countdown to the Centennial." The homecoming festivities will take place March 29-31 on the ABAC campus.

Highlights of the threeday event will include the golden alumni luncheon with the induction of the class of 1957 at noon and a dinner/dance featuring the ABAC Jazz Band at 7 p.m. March 30.

The annual awards luncheon in the Donaldson Dining Hall will take place at noon March 31 and will serve as the kickoff for ABAC's centennial celebration.

Other events on March 31 include a forum on agriculture featuring ABAC president David Bridges in the Cordell Conference Room.

The alumni/student variety show was one of the big hits from homecoming 2006 and will return at 7 p.m. this year in the dining hall. The band, Starbound, will play top tunes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s at the 8 p.m. homecoming dance.

Other events of homecoming 2007 will include the Peach State Stampede Rodeo, a homecoming barbeque dinner, and ABAC softball and baseball games throughout the weekend.
