The girls dominate market hog show

Grand Champion - Logan Bridges
The Early County Market Hog Show was Feb. 19 at the Early County Ag Center. There were 20 contestants and 40 hogs entered in this year's event4.

Contestants competed in four showmanship classes and six different weight classes.

The Novice Showmanship class winner was Sutton Bridges, with Lee Cresswell placing second and Steven Willis placing third.

In the Elementary Showmanship class, the winner was Jake Odom, with Jacob Stinson placing second and Jay Glass placing third.

In the Junior Division the winner was Rick Jester, Logan Bridges placed second and Kaylyn Harrell placed third.

The Senior Division winner was Tyler Hampton. Clay Willis placed second and Hannah Scarborough placed third.

The weight class winners were:

Class 1: (sponsored by Bank of Early) first place, Tyler Hampton; second place, Jay Glass; third place, Jacob Stinson; fourth place, Tyler Hampton; and fifth place, Sam Stinson.

Class 2: (sponsored by Birdsong Peanut Company) first place, Kaylyn Harrell; second place, Madison Bridges; third place, Sam Stinson; fourth place, Madison Bridges; and fifth place, Trent Moore.

Reserve Champion - Kaylyn Harrell
Class 3: sponsored by Damascus Peanut Company, first place, Sutton Bridges; second place Rick Jester; third place, Steven Willis; fourth place, Keith Poole; and fifth place, Kohler Tabb.

Class 4: sponsored by Decatur Gin, first place Kaylyn Harrell; second place, Clay Willis; third place Rick Jester; fourth place, Jay Glass; fifth place Jake Odom, and sixth place, Trey Hunter.

Class 5: sponsored by First State Bank of Blakely, first place, Logan Bridges; second place, Rick Jester; third place, Steven Willis; fourth place, Jay Glass; fifth place, Clay Willis; and sixth place, April Harris.

Class 6: sponsored by Georgia Pacific, first place, Jake Odom; second place, Lee Cresswell; third place, Clay Willis; fourth place, Hannah Scarborough; fifth place, Steven Willis, and sixth place, Keith Poole.

The grand champion was exhibited by Logan Bridges with the reserve champion exhibited by Kaylyn Harrell.

This year's participants in the 4-H/FFA Local Hog Show were Madison Bridges, Logan Bridges, Sutton Bridges, Lee Cresswell, Jay Glass, Tyler Hampton, April Harris, Trey Hunter, Kaylyn Harrell, Rick Jester, Trent Moore, Jake Odom, Keith Poole, Hannah Scarborough, Jacob Stinson, Sam Stinson, Kohler Tabb, Matthew White, Clay Willis, and Steven Willis.
