Taking it to Atlanta

The future of Early County will be mingling in high cotton next week when a group of local officials and citizens meet with elected officials and state department heads in Atlanta.

Senator John Bulloch and Representative Gerald Greene along with the Blakely-Early County Chamber of Commerce and EC2055 will host a luncheon meeting March 6 on the 18th floor of the Commerce Club. The luncheon is being sponsored by the Bank of Early, Commercial State Bank and First State Bank.

The purpose of the luncheon is to express appreciation to state officials and key legislators for their past support of Early County and Southwest Georgia, and to discuss ideas for the area's future. It will also be an opportunity for local officials to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the community. An estimated 50 state officials are expected to attend the luncheon along with a like number from the community.
