Farm Credit holds stockholders meeting at Darton

Approximately 250 area farmer-stockholders and guests met at Darton College Student Center to attend the annual stockholder's meeting of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Bobby J. Brooks, chairman of the board of directors, presided over the meeting. Charlie Burch, vice chairman of the board of directors, gave the report of the directors and reported a very good year for the association while Richard S. Monson, president, delivered the 2006 financial reports and progress. Robert L. Holden Sr. gave a report from the AgFirst Farm Credit Bank board of directors.

The stockholders elected a 2008 nominating committee as well as the following member/borrowers to the board of directors: Robert L. Holden Sr. of Whigham, T.E. Moye Jr. of Newton, and B.E. Powell of Buena Vista.

These gentlemen join the other directors; Bobby J. Brooks of Edison, Charlie Burch of Newton, T.E. Allen III of Shellman, Clifford Dollar of Bainbridge, Alton H. Fendley Jr. of Bluffton, Robert Moss of Plains and Jeff Clark of Tallahassee.
