Four members competed in a welding CDE. Clay Willis competed in the ARC welding, Nick Widdon in MIG welding, Derek Eubanks in oxy-acetylene cutting and Jonathon Kimbrel competed in brazing. Derek Eubanks won first place in region and will go back to Tifton Feb. 27 to compete against three other individual event winners for Area 5 Top Gun Welder.

Haley Pritchett competed in the Area 5 public speaking contest. She placed fourth with her speech "From Moonshine to the Gas Line." Her speech was about ethanol fuel production. Also, Haley will receive the Cliff Singletary Memorial Scholarship for FFA public speaking at the Early County High School honor's night program in May.

Many FFA members are preparing for upcoming competitions such as floriculture and natural resources CDE.

Also, National FFA week is Feb. 19 thru 23. FFA members will host a teacher appreciation breakfast before school the morning of February 21.
