Headstart accepting applications now

The Early County Child Development Center will be taking applications for the 2007-08 school year through Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Early Child Development Center located at 5038 Freeman Road.

Those eligible for Head Start are children ages 3 and 4. We are also seeking to enroll children with disabilities, children who are emotionally disturbed, mentally challenged, blind or visually impaired, deaf or hearing impaired, physically or otherwise health impaired, requiring special education.

To complete the registration procedure, we ask all applicants to please bring the child's certified birth certificate (with file number), Child Care Certificate 3231 (immunization record), Medicaid card, a copy of EPSDT screening (health check) if on Medicaid, all family members' Social Security cards, and all verification of family income that can be left with the center, (preferably a 2006 Income Tax form or a notarized statement from an employer, a check stub, or a W2 form).
