Jeanette Johnson Gleaton, 85, of Arlington died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Calhoun Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Gleaton was born in Houston County, Ala., July 20, 1921, to the late Claude Clifton Johnson and Minnie Davenport Johnson. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Gleaton Sr.

Survivors include two sons, James Harold Gleaton Jr. and wife Carolyn of Ft. Gaines and Calvin Gleaton and wife Ann of Tallahassee; two sisters, Lillian Evans of Florala, Ala., and Lena Carlson of Quitman; one brother, Rufus Johnson of Orlando; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Arlington Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Hadden and Rev. Ralph Estes officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Freddy Gleaton, Anthony Gleaton, Peyton Gleaton, Billy Gleaton, Jim Gleaton, Lamar Lanier, Cliff Bush, and Julian Morgan.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
