Storytelling

When Donna Washington starts a story, people listen. Don't miss the opportunity to be in her audience Feb. 8 at Lucy Hilton Maddox Memorial Library at 10 a.m. A luncheon workshop for parents follows at 11:30.

Washington has traveled the country telling stories for over 14 years, gaining national attention for her dynamic style and captivating stories. She has also written three books with a fourth due out this year and offers workshops for teachers, libraries and other groups.

She has presented her storytelling skills to the American Library Association Conference, the National Storytelling Conference and is scheduled for the Georgia Public Library System's Children's Services Annual Conference in Macon Feb. 9.

In addition to her library performance, Washington will perform for Early County Elementary students Feb. 7.

The library performance is open to children ages three and up and adults. The workshop is for adults only. For more information, call 723-3079.
