      This past spring, a mockingbird fell out of its nest outside my office. The little bird's parents kept vigil over the little bird and brought it food and whatever else a little baby bird needs. I didn't try to assist. When it comes to baby birds, I am useless.

      If financial support translates into power and influence, the Territory of Guam would likely have more clout than Georgia in a White House occupied by President Hillary Clinton. Her presidential campaign has barely scratched among Georgians in raising funds, while two of her rival Democrats have scored big with Georgia contributors, particularly around Atlanta.

      SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The California Chamber of Commerce's annual advocacy conference here last week discussed a possible tradeoff: weakening the state's rigid term limits in exchange for legislative redistricting that would benefit Republicans. For that arrangement to be born, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger must be the midwife. But he does not seem prepared to play the role.

Locals put out barn blaze
      On Thursday, June 21 around 3 p.m. Carl Young had noticed some smoke in the air. He stopped at Jakin Peanut and asked David Pearce and Mike McLendon who could be burning on such a dry day. David said that no one should be burning due to the burn ban. David then jumped into his truck and went to investigate.
