Ballot fraud now a felony in Georgia
      Gov. Sonny Perdue signed two significant election bills into law Wednesday afternoon. Senate Bill 40, sponsored by Sen. Cecil Stanton (R- 18), increases the penalty for absentee ballot fraud and ensures that all elections fraud can be prosecuted as a felony.

Kolomoki fishing rodeo winners
      Kolomoki Farm held its fourth annual Kids Fishing Rodeo Saturday, June 2. The four big winners were presented with trophies in their categories. Krystal Birchett caught 14 to win the most in the girl's division, Hayden Ashley caught 30 to take the boy's division.

Clay, Calhoun libraries changing hours
      Libraries in the Kinchafoonee Regional Library System will operate under new hours beginning July 2. The Calhoun, Clay, Randolph and Terrell County Libraries will change hours effective July 2. All will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Lottery scam of 2005 resurfaces
      The YMCA of Coastal Georgia has contacted the Governor's office of consumer affairs to report that a scammer has created fake checks linked to YMCA's bank account, which are then being used in a lottery scam.
