      University of Georgia Lisa Renee Hilton of Edison graduated summa cum laude with honors from the University of Georgia Saturday, May 12 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and a minor in Spanish. She will begin medical school at the Medical College of Georgia this fall.

Riddle earns Eagle honors
      Alex Riddle, 16-year-old son of Laura and Paul Riddle and grandson of Wayne and Eugenia Foster of Blakely, completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. Alex's Eagle project involved work with the Westside Homeless Partnership, which is a self-sufficiency program for homeless families in the Houston area.

Espinoza wins spelling bee
      Brandon Espinoza placed first for the second grade in the JES Math Bee April 18. By winning for his school, he was able to compete for the Catahoula Parish Bee May 4. He also placed first there. Brandon is the son of Pam and Roger Johnson and Paco Espinsoza.

      Willie Wimberly, ECHS senior and FCCLA state president, was honored March 7 at the state school board meeting at Twin Towers in Atlanta.
