The county began consolidating over 80 green garbage dumpsters last summer which have been collecting household garbage across the county the past 30 years. A month-long undercover operation by the Early County Drug Unit had local authorities busy Monday and Tuesday rounding up nearly 40 people with pending drug and alcohol charges. Between May 1 and May 23 undercover operatives made 59 drug buys and 10 alcohol buys from at least 38 people which led to the charges. All of the transactions were recorded on video camera. More...

While the arrests resulting from the undercover operation were underway without incident Monday morning, an unexpected chase led to the arrest of two additional suspects.
