Lucille Jenkins

Lucille “Polly” Jenkins, 98, of Blakely died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at her home.

Miss Jenkins was born in Early County, Oct. 30, 1908, to the late Samuel Arthur Jenkins and Elizabeth White Jenkins. She was of the Methodist faith, and spent her life in Early County.

Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Kenney of Damascus, and Daisy English of Blakely; and a nephew, John Wesley Jenkins of Blakely.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Sterling Jones and Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Interment followed at Blakely Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Earl Jones, Perry Jarrett, Raymond English, Buddy Williams, David Jones, and Charles Jenkins.

Honorary pallbearers were Fire Chief Kenneth Jones, Mayor Ric Hall, Fire Department employees, Norman Chadwell, and other City of Blakely employees.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges was in charge of arrangements.
