Taylor named to South All Star team

Emmanuel Taylor
Early County Bobcat Emmanuel Taylor has been chosen to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All Star game Dec. 29 in Columbus.

Taylor was one of three quarterbacks named to the South All Star squad. The others are Jacobi Rodriguez of Warner Robins’ Northside High School which advanced to the AAAA semifinals, and Bryan Ellis who quarterbacked Peach County to the AAA state championship.

Taylor was prolific at quarterback for the Bobcats his senior year as he helped lead them to the AA semifinals at the Georgia Dome.

Bobcat fans got a preview of what was in store for them during the season when Taylor threw 65 passes in the season opener against Bainbridge.

When the Bobcats finished the season with a disappointing loss against topranked Charlton Co. in the semifinals, Tayor had completed 59.6 percent, 214 of 359 passes, for over 2,900 yards and 27 touchdowns. He rushed for another 919 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Taylor had 10 receivers who caught over 10 passes and nine who caught touchdown passes.

The All Star game will be played at 2 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
