George Hammonds, 58, of Blakely died Nov. 26, 2006, at Early Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hammonds was born May 6, 1948, in Early County to the late Johnny Clifford Hutchins Sr. and the late Ruth Evelyn Johnson. He was raised by the late Rev. and Mrs. Hammonds and his maternal grandmother, the late Lois Brannon.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Hutchins.
Survivors include two sons,Wytekia Thornton and Zablan Dumont Lingo; four brothers, Robert Earl Williams of Tuskegee, Johnny Clifford Hutchins Jr. of Blakely, Juan Andre Hutchins and wife Angela of Oxen Hill, Md., and Don Hutchins and wife Stephanie of Fort Washington, Md.; four sisters, Jacquelyn Williams Henderson of Blakely, Amelia Hutchins McMullen and husband Ralph, Arlena Simmons and husband David, all of Milledgeville, and Shereda Hutchins Henry and husband James of Jakin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Community Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hutchins officiating. Interment followed at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Chester, James Henry, Andre Hutchins, Corey McMullen, Cameron Simmons and Robert E. Williams.
Community Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
